The End
From Finland back through the rain to Sweden, followed by a 23-hour 1000-mile
drive from north of Malmo in Sweden through Denmark, Germany, Austria, Switzerland
and the Alps again, Lichtenstein back into Austria then finally ending up in
Italy.

Back to the Italian coast and I think I finally got the hang
of navigation, it’s really very easy, ignore all signs and directions,
aim for where you feel like and ignore all other road users. With this technique
I successfully navigated to the Italian Riviera then on to France without a
problem.
The whole trip was now nearing it’s end, and so was the summer. It was
much warmer than Scandinavia but the night were getting cooler, so I spent the
last week close to St Tropez, and enjoyed a mixture of sunny, warm and very
windy.

To hot, sunny and calm weather, with a brief evening thunderstorm thrown in for good measure.

Then the day came to return to London, so I left the coast at 10am, drove through France, Luxembourg, Belgium and Holland (which completed all the countries apart from Ireland and the Vatican). From Holland I headed to Calais, through an incredibly foggy Belgium dawn. Arriving at the harbour to buy a ticket, wait 10 mins then drive on to the ferry. Great timing! I normally spend longer than that waiting for trains.

Arriving back in London at 10.30am the following day, 24.5 hours
and 1100 miles after leaving St Tropez. Still at least it proves I can pop down
there for a weekend if I want to!
So ended my summer, and here’s to the next trip!
